Youth Cymru

Joining in 2023, it was clear this incredible charity was poised for change. What came next was their first rebrand in over 25 years - a project I was honoured to lead.

Delivering a landmark rebrand

The rebrand marked a pivotal moment for Youth Cymru, giving the organisation a bold new identity that reflected its values and mission. With experience guiding brands through transformations of this scale, and given this was their first rebrand in over 25years, there was understandable a great deal of emotion attached to the existing identity. My role was to persuade the joint CEOs and trustees that pursuing the rebrand was the right decision. To do this, I collaborated with designers to present a range of options—from a small-scale refresh to more transformative changes. In order to balance their views and ease the transition, I also provided multiple strategic reasons to demonstrate why this was the best choice for the organisation’s future.

The next step was bringing it to life across digital channels and physical collateral. I led the rollout, delivering toolkits and templates for the team, refreshed website copy, press releases, staff bios, branded materials and external communications that gave the rebrand its full voice.

Building digital confidence

The social media landscape demanded strategy, training and ongoing support. Rather than leaving the team to navigate these waters alone, I developed comprehensive workflows that made consistency achievable while coaching them through the practicalities. Templates simplified their creative process. Soon, authentic posts began flowing naturally. Their online community responded, growing steadily as Youth Cymru's digital presence found its rhythm.

Creating impact across events and partnerships

Beyond brand and digital, I’ve helped amplify Youth Cymru’s presence on the ground. From the In It Together Festival to freshers fairs across Wales, I’ve created touchpoints where young people connect directly with the charity. At AGMs, I’ve delivered workshops and presentations that turned strategy into action. The work has also stretched further: in Belfast, I joined their cross-national partnership event, supporting workshops that strengthened collaboration with youth organisations across the UK and Ireland.

Wherever the stage, my focus has been on giving Youth Cymru a strong, confident voice that resonates.

Guiding strategy for the future

My role went beyond campaigns; it also shapes the tools and approaches that keep Youth Cymru’s partnerships thriving. I’ve introduced new collaboration systems that make joint projects easier to deliver and supported funding communications that strengthen bids and open doors. Together, these building blocks lay the groundwork for sustainable growth and long-term impact.

The balance of high-level strategy and practical delivery ensures Youth Cymru can focus on what it does best: creating life-changing opportunities for young people.
